Teresa Lamelas is 29 years old and is from Oporto. A law graduate, she works as a lawyer. She considers herself a chronic nephelibate, a passionate about the visual arts since she can remember. Having followed another professional path, she put artistic creation aside for many years. In 2020, during the peak of the pandemic, Teresa Lamelas couldn’t control the transcendent need to create again. With this desire, she retrieved her long-forgotten pencils and paints and tried oil painting for the first time. In a completely self-taught path, she explores color and challenges perspectives and compositions in a very intimate and personal imaginary. She has already had the opportunity to illustrate small texts, to paint murals and to do small design works. As a poetic intention she sees the symbiosis between nature, the human figure and ordinary everyday objects as her greatest inspirational reference. She searches for the unusual, the surprising, the dubious.
