Born in Leiria, in 1993, Mónica de Sousa lives and works in Lisbon. She graduated in Photography from the Instituto Politécnico de Tomar (2015) and completed in 2018 the postgraduate course in Aesthetics and Artistic Studies, specializing in Photography and Cinema at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities of the Universidade Nova de Lisboa. She has been working at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation Archive Collection since 2016. Mónica has been producing his artwork since 2015, developing her projects with a critical approach on contemporary society. She participates regularly in collective exhibitions, from which we can highlight the initiative organized by BASE Lx last June at the Santo António da Barra Fort, in Estoril.
